Supernatural Cast: Where Are They Now?

Jim Beaver is no stranger to acting, having played Whitney Ellsworth in Deadwood as well as portraying Leland DuParte in the late Ed Asner-starring show Thunder Alley. Beaver came off the back of his SAG award nominated Deadwood portrayal to Supernatural for a one-shot character named after one of the producers of the show. Little did anyone at the time realize that mentor hunter Bobby Singer would become one of the most well-loved characters of the series.

Beaver has an interesting lineage and history - he claims relations to such famous folks as French philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, former governor of Pennsylvania James A. Beaver, three-time U.S. Attorney General John Crittenden, as well as notorious pop-star Justin Bieber. He also served as a corporal in the US Marine Corps in the 1st Division in the Vietnam War. He, like Jensen Ackles, is an alumni of the soap opera Days of Our Lives.

After his first stint as Bobby Singer, Jim's had major roles on The Ranch and Justified. He also plays a tribute-to-himself in The Boys as Senator Robert Singer and most recently is a recurring character as the sexist former NYPD detective, Spencer, in the show B Positive.
