That '70s Show: All Seasons Ranked Worst To Best
3. Season Three
Best Episode: Dine & Dash
In terms of satirical cutaway skits, season three boasts the best of them.
Red envisions a skit called “Die Drogensuchtigen” which is an exaggerated short film on the dangers of marijuana. The episode “Too Old to Trick or Treat, Too Young to Die” has a collection of many Hitchcock movie imitations. And later in the series, when Donna and Fez start pretend dating, they find themselves in an I Love Lucy parody.
Season three features the highest rated IMDB episode (with the exception of the finale) – Dine & Dash. Kelso tricks the gang into going to an expensive restaurant under the condition that he’ll pay, but then tells them at the last minute they’re on a dine and dash.
This leads to everyone ditching the table, apart from Donna and Eric, who are put in a difficult situation. As revenge, they give their friends special brownies but add the ‘special’ ingredient of chocolate laxatives.
The series was also surprisingly eventful. Hyde is reunited with his supposed biological father and temporarily moves in with him, Fez finds himself in a serious relationship with the psychotic Caroline, Jackie and Kelso rekindle their relationship whilst Donna and Eric tragically end theirs.
It’s sufficed to say seasons one to three were the true golden years of the sitcom. When it comes to placing them best to worst, it’s a matter of splitting hairs.
