The Book Of Boba Fett: Everything We Know So Far

5. The Book Of Boba Fett Will NOT Replace The Mandalorian

“This is actually separate from The Mandalorian Season 3,” Jon Favreau announced on Good Morning America - much to the relief of Star Wars fans. The initial misconception surrounding The Book of Boba Fett was that it was replacing The Mandalorian.

One can see how the public made this assumption, considering how, unlike any other new Star Wars show, TBOBF was announced in The Mandalorian finale. Fortunately, Din Djarin isn’t going anywhere and, following the completion of TBOBF, production will commence on “Season 3 of The Mandalorian, with the main character that we all have known and loved (played by Pedro Pascal).”

Whether or not The Mandalorian’s titular hero will appear in Fett’s spin-off series (or vice-versa) is still up-in-the-air. What has been confirmed by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy at the Investor Day presentation, however, is that The Mandalorian, as well as the newly announced Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic, will all lead up to some big crossover event.

Will that “event” involve Boba Fett? Will TBOBF supplement this greater story? All of that is still to be confirmed. What we do know is that The Mandalorian isn’t going anywhere.
