The Book Of Boba Fett: Everything We Know So Far
4. It's A Standalone Series
Needless to say, Temuera Morrison is starring as Boba Fett alongside Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Shand was introduced in season one of The Mandalorian in which she was saved by Fett. Now indebted to the man, Shand is serving as Fett’s companion and accomplice in his galactic exploits.
On the production side of things (although we aren’t Sith) we have some absolutes to deal with. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez are set to Executive Produce. Some are speculating that, since Rodriguez directed episode six of The Mandalorian season two which heavily featured Boba Fett, that he will have a great deal of creative control over the series.
What is more likely, however, is that TBOBF will take a page (no pun intended) out of The Mandalorian’s book in splitting creative control between Favreau, Filoni, and Rodriguez to varying degrees. Since Favreau was very much the creative figurehead of The Mandalorian (writing most, and directing some episodes), we can only assume his influence will be heavy on TBOBF.
Disney+ hasn’t left fans out to dry entirely, as on December 21st they tweeted the title graphic for TBOBF. The graphic is clearly based on the design of Fett’s iconic armour and does nothing if not build on the already palpable excitement for the upcoming show.
