The Book Of Boba Fett: Everything We Know So Far
2. Fett Is Looking For Revenge
If we take a close look at the Mandalorian’s post-credits scene, many details about The Book of Boba Fett’s eponymous anti-hero come into clarity. First and foremost, Fett hasn’t lost his touch after a brush with death five years prior. The voracious trail that Fett had blazed on The Mandalorian indicates one thing for his future on the screen – Fett is back and he is angry.
Having fulfilled his debt to Din Djarin, and now at full power once more, Fett appears to be turning his attention to those who have previously wronged him, namely Bib Fortuna.
Why Fortuna? After Jabba the Hutt perished on his sail barge at the Great Pit of Carkoon in Return of the Jedi, it appears Fortuna assumed his place. Consequently, there are two possibilities for Fett’s motives: either Fortuna’s demise arose out of a petty act of revenge, or rather the Twi’lek was only a means to an end. The Mandalorian affirmed an essential component of the brand-spanking-new Boba Fett we now see tearing it up on the small screen – a newfound hatred for the Empire. Therefore Fortuna’s demise is likely much more than tying up a loose end; it’s sending a message – ‘Boba Fett is back, and he’s coming for you.’
Both Fennec and Fett have worked with the Hutts in the past, and Fortuna’s murder may additionally be a message directly to the galactic crime family. Either way, The Book of Boba Fett will undoubtedly see a lot of bloodshed, and fans (probably) couldn’t be happier.
