The Book Of Boba Fett Review: 8 Ups & 1 Down For Chapter 1: 'Stranger In A Strange Land'

The above image doesn't particularly do them justice, but this first episode of The Book of Boba Fett made the Gamorreans look more competent than ever before in the Star Wars franchise.

For those unaware, Gamorreans are the pig-like brutes who have previously been seen guarding Jabba's Palace. Here, two of these guards visit Boba to pledge their allegiance to the new Crime Lord of Tatooine. And boy, does their presence come in handy for Fett and Fennec Shand.

When our pair of badass lead characters are ambushed by a group of mysterious assassins, Boba and Fennec find themselves overrun and on the receiving end of a fair old beating. That is, of course, until the two Gamorreans turn up on the scene and deliver their own ass whoopings on these attackers.

Gamorreans have been a part of Star Wars since the original trilogy, yet they've always been treated merely as beefy cannon fodder for our heroes of the day to easily dispatch of. Granted, The Mandalorian featured them in a slightly better way than previously - as in, we saw two Gamorreans fighting for the entertainment of other's - but Stranger in a Strange Land made these creatures feel genuinely important.
