1. What On Earth Is Going On In The Suburbs?
Well, this one was the biggy. Surely at least 80% of viewers uttered the phrase, “What the f**k” at some point during this final twist.
After Billy blows up Stillwell’s condo (supposedly BLOWING UP A BABY in the process) he awakes on the front lawn of a house in a nice suburban neighbourhood. He opens his eyes to see Homelander, who advises him he’s been out cold for quite some time. Then, to his horror and confusion, Billy gets up to see Becca coming out of the house along with a child of around eight years old. Homelander’s child.
It’s unclear how the writers thought it was OK to cut to credits after this reveal, but that’s where they’ve left us until the show returns in 2020. What a cliff to leave us hanging over.
There are too many questions around this. How did a supe reproduce? How did Becca survive birthing a supe? Will this kid be as monstrous as his father? Will he only be half as powerful? Does he even know he has powers yet?
We need answers, and how we’re going to last another year before getting them may be the biggest mystery of all.
