5. Will The Rest Of Payback Appear?
With Soldier Boy's introduction to the show, fans of the comics all had the same question, will the rest of Payback appear? Payback are The Boys' direct rip off of the Avengers, and one of Vought's most lucrative teams, but this hasn't stopped them trying to join the Seven in the past.
Aside from Soldier Boy, the supes that make up the team are Stormfront, Tek-Knight, Swatto, the Crimson Countess, Mind-Droid, and Eagle the Archer. While Eagle and Stormfront have already appeared, and Tek-Knight has been name-dropped on several occasions, we have so far heard nothing of Payback. This may well change in season three however.
The biggest hint that Vought's second most popular team from the comics will be making an appearance in season three is that the first episode is simply titled 'Payback'. Of course, this could mean that the new group of heroes will appear, but it could also simply be a comic easter egg as the rest of the episode titles have been previously.
Four new heroes may be a lot to introduce for season three, but it will certainly be seen as a missed opportunity by the fans if Payback don't appear. Maybe it's about time Homelander and the Seven face some competition to be Vought's top dogs after all this time.
