The Falcon & The Winter Soldier: 10 Biggest Takeaways From Episode Four
6. Sam Wilson Is Better Qualified Than John Walker
This is no huge surprise really, as this has been shown to be the case from the very beginning of the series, but it has never been made clearer than in episode four that John Walker was the wrong choice to replace Steve Rogers as Captain America.
There are things that happened that we will get to later in this list, but just focusing on his combat ability alone, he is lacking. It wouldn't be fair to expect the new Captain America to win every single fight, as Steve certainly had his butt kicked on more than one occasion, but without being the good man that made Rogers who he was, Walker has to lean even more so on his physical abilities.
He was shown up by Karli and the Flag Smashers in episode two, and the Dora Milaje in episode four, which led to him feeling the need for something more. When he joined Sam and Bucky in fighting the super soldiers once again, Falcon more than held his own against Karli's crew, better than Walker ever did before.
Not only does he understand the ideals of the shield and what the mantle represents more than John Walker ever will, he was also better in a fight.
