The Falcon & The Winter Soldier: 12 Biggest Takeaways From Episode 5
2. Isaiah's Time As A Super Soldier
Episode two of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier introduced the MCU to Isaiah Bradley, a character whose story would affect Sam in a huge way and change his entire outlook on the shield and its history. He was a super soldier back in the 1950's that the world was never told about, and his story was explored deeper in episode five.
Isaiah was one of what he described as a 'handful' that were shot up with the serum, though many of them died off. Even with them being unstable, they were still sent into the field, and when some of them were captured, the government planned to bomb the entire POW camp to hide the 'evidence'.
Isaiah broke out out of the facility and single-handedly saved the lives of his fellow experiment subjects in a feat of bravery and heroism that is eerily similar to Steve Rogers disobeying orders to save Bucky and the 107th infantry during the second World War.
However, while Steve became a national hero, Isaiah was imprisoned, and wiped out of history to stop the truth of the experiments ever getting out. His love was told that he was dead, and while he was locked up and having even more experiments undertaken on him, without his consent, she died before he could ever see her again.
