Combatants: The Flash vs. a derailed train

What Happened: When a man named Leonard Snart begins terrorizing Central City, Barry finds himself facing off against a rogue without superpowers for the first time. With Snart armed with a cold gun designed by Cisco and smuggled away from STAR Labs by a janitor, Barry is thwarted time and time again as he chooses to minimize collateral damage rather than capture his opponent. Snart - whom Cisco dubs Captain Cold - seemingly tries to flee the city on a commuter train.

When Barry catches up to him to quip about his speed, Snart reveals his true plan: derail the train as a means to distract the Flash and facilitate his escape. The train jumps the tracks, and the Flash must use all of his abilities to rescue all of the innocent passengers.

Why It Was Great: The effects as everything goes into slow-motion while Barry races through the wreckage to save the civilians were astounding, and watching Barry face the very real possibility that a supervillain is using his weaknesses to possibly kill dozens of people showed him the repercussions of amassing a gallery of rogues.

Winner: The Flash
