The Flash: Ranking Every Major Death Worst To Best
5. H.R. Wells
This is one of the sadder deaths in the series. Fans of the show are familiar with the Council of Wells and their different universes. Team Flash often turns to the Council when they need advice, which is usually helpful. Almost every version of Harrison Well is a genius in their respective universes, and all are capable of leadership and greatness. Well, all except for one of them, H.R. Wells. Though intellectual intelligence may not be his particular specialty, H.R Wells has a different kind of skill, and it's one that more Harrisons could use.
H.R. has very little scientific intelligence, but that's not ultimately his most extensive departing feature from the other Wells. The quality that his multiversal counterparts didn't have that he did was the ability to act through kindness and motivate others through positive reinforcement.
What's tragic about his death is that his murder comes at the hands of an evil version of Barry Allen, aka Savitar. However, he knew his death had meaning as it was a sacrifice, and it saved Iris West's life. While he is not the only Wells willing to put himself at odds and risk safety to protect loved ones, H.R. is different in almost every way. He knows taking Iris's place is a death sentence, but he does it anyway. In a way, H.R. is one of the greatest heroes in the Arrowverse and the bravest of any in the Council of Wells.
