The Flash: Ranking Every Season From Worst To Best
1. Season 1
'Perfection' is a word used so much in today's day and age that it's almost become something of a cliché. The truth is that, while virtually everything is capable of greatness, perfection is a hard standard to reach. And yet this writer can't help but think that the Arrowverse has never come as close to perfection as the debut installment of The Flash.
Drastically different to what worked for Arrow, The Flash adopted a more optimistic and light-hearted tone, placing an emphasis on family and making each adventure feel as fun as the golden age of superhero television from the '60s and '70s. But those colourful adventures were merely a backdrop for the compelling narrative at its heart, as The Man In The Yellow Suit saga was without question the best piece of epic storytelling that the Arrowverse - and indeed, The CW - has ever produced.
Carried by a star-making turn from Grant Gustin, The Flash's debut offering was a comic book come to life in all the right ways. And as introductions go, this was nothing short of phenomenal - kicking The Flash off on such a high that none of its follow-up seasons - or Arrowverse seasons in general - ever came close to matching the grandeur of it.
