The Flash Season 2: 10 Things That Must Happen

10. Explain Harrison Wells' Return

There were many highlights of season 1, but Tom Cavanagh, as Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash, is certainly up there with the very best of them. He was brilliant as the can-he-be-trusted mentor to Barry, perfectly playing the dual (or triple) nature of his role as he secretly worked against him in the hopes of securing his own future. However, in the season finale, Eddie sacrificed himself, meaning that Eobard should technically never have existed, and opens up all sorts of confusing paradoxes and singularities that really make your head hurt. The relevant takeaway is that Wells/Thawne/Reverse-Flash should be gone. However, Cavanagh has once again been confirmed as a series regular. Whether that will be as Harrison Wells or Eobard Thawne remains to be seen, and it may be in a different universe, but while it's great news that he's back, the show needs to give us a proper explanation that fits in with the narrative, and give him a role that makes sense post-reveal.
