If any further affirmation was needed (it's not) of just how confident The Flash was in its first season, then look no further than the fact that one of the villains they included was a huge, telekentic, (sort of) talking gorilla. It's something most shows wouldn't attempt once they're truly established, yet here it was not only attempted but pulled-off. It would've been better to spend more time with Grodd, yet what little we got of him was fantastic and thrilling to watch. While Barry did ultimately defeat him, thanks to the primate inadvertently catching the downtown train, the end of the episode showed him getting stronger. Yes, Grodd lives, and he'll be coming back in season 2. That means there'll be more monkey business, and hopefully they can show-off the gorilla even more this time around, even if he won't be the main villain.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
