The Flash Season 2: 9 Big Questions We're Asking After 'The Man Who Saved Central City'

7. Is Ronnie Really Dead?

The Flash Season 2
The CW

The opening episode had quite a few emotional beats, but one of the saddest was the reveal of the fate of the Ronnie Raymond half of Firestorm, played by Robbie Amell.

It turned out that when Firestorm went into the singularity to help Barry, they separated inside to stop it, and while the Professor Stein half made it out alive, Ronnie did not. Is this really the end of this version of Firestorm?

While it may be surprising to kill off a fairly big character so early, the signs point to yes. In fact, they pointed that way as soon as he and Caitlin were married, because happiness never lasts for long in the comic-book world. Amell isn't down as a regular for either this show nor spin-off Legends of Tomorrow, unlike Victor Garber (Stein), and he has a main role on The X-Files revival to focus on. That doesn't mean he can't reappear though, as there's alternate universes. So, is this the last we've seen of Ronnie Raymond?
