The Flash Season 2: 9 Big Questions We're Asking After 'The Man Who Saved Central City'

6. Will Henry Allen Be Back Soon?

The Flash Season 2
The CW

Another of the emotional moments (this really continued where season 1 left off in giving us all of the feels) came with Henry Allen's arc in this episode, although it was a much happier one.

Thanks to Wells' confession he's finally released from prison, after 14 years locked-up for the murder of his wife that he didn't commit, but after the happy homecoming he isn't hanging around for long.

He realises his presence will be holding Barry back from fulfilling all of his duties and potential as The Flash, so decides to leave town to let him live his heroic life. It's an understandable decision, and a nice passing of the torch from the 90s Barry Allen to the modern-day one. It's a shame though, because John Wesley Shipp was great in the small time he had on the show, and very much part of the heart of it, so surely we can expect to see him again before the year's out, right?
