The Flash Season 3: 10 Things You Need To Know About Kid Flash

4. Wally Isn't The Only Kid Flash

Like most heroes, several people have taken on the moniker of Kid Flash over the years.

Whilst “Robin” has been Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Damian Wayne and even Carrie Kelley, the Kid Flash mantle is also one that has been passed from hero to hero. Sure, Wally West was indeed the first Kid Flash, but he was followed by others.

The main person to be known as Kid Flash other than Wally West is Bart Allen, who is the 30th century grandson of Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen. Initially debuting under the name Impulse, this young speedster would eventually go on to be known as Kid Flash.

Following Bart in the Kid Flash gig, though, was Wally West II. Yes, there’s a second Wally West, and it’s with this Wally that The CW’s The Flash will seemingly pull a lot of inspiration from where their Kid Flash is concerned. Not only is Wally II described as “bi-racial”, but he also has an outfit that is very much like the one Keiynan Lonsdale will be donning on TV later this year. This second Wally is the son of the fifth Reverse-Flash, Daniel West, marking him as the cousin of the original Wally West.

Convoluted? Yes, but that’s always often the case where Flash and Kid Flash stories are concerned. In fact, making things even more confusing, the alternative Kingdom Come universe actually saw Iris West as Kid Flash.
