The Handmaid's Tale Season 2: 10 Big Questions After 'Other Women'

Other Women featured a brief coversation between several of Gilead's commanders. The powerful men discussed Commander Glenn's trip to Canada — a trip that Glenn hopes will ease sanctions in that country. As it stands, Canada is currently a safe zone that's known as 'New America', which suggests the powers that be have very little hold in this country. Moreover, we know that Luke and Moira are currently living there freely which reinforces the lack of control the Gilead commanders have here.

But this trip to Canada is reason for concern. We've seen in the past that the powers that be in Gilead have brokered deals and traded with other countries, so could Canada be next in line? Glenn's trip suggests that the committee is at least having conversations Canada's government, so perhaps the safe zone may not be safe for much longer.

Moreover, Fred Waterford's desire to go on this trip with Glenn is also a reason to be concerned. While it might lead to nothing, it's hard not to think that writer Yahlin Chang included this conversation in Other Women for a reason.
