The Mandalorian: 3 Jedi Masters Likely To Train Baby Yoda (And 3 Who Aren't)
4. Mace Windu - Unlikely
As explained in an earlier article which can be read here, there is some evidence to suggest that Mace Windu probably did survive his fight with Palpatine. Keeping this in mind along with Samuel L. Jackson's eagerness to return to the role, we have to really consider him as a possibility at this point.
The main concern with Mace Windu is that bringing him back is a very big move. It's most likely a move big enough to deserve its own Disney+ series. Considering that Jackson won't come too cheap and will want his character done right, this may be exactly what he gets.
While his character would definitely know all about Grogu and be invested in training him, this role may not meet the requirements of badassary needed for a Mace Windu return. Training the child is all well and good but fans want to see Mace on the warpath and kicking a lot of imperial asses. True, he'd get that chance on a show like The Mandalorian but in his own show, he'd get to take center stage.
Lastly he is a character who might be a bit too much. Samuel L. Jackson will steal the show rather he wants to or not and bringing in Mace might change the tone of the series too much.
