Oh boy, this can of worms. If you're a younger reader, newer to Star Wars compared to the rest of the fandom, you are in for a treat here.

Boba Fett was a side character first introduced in the infamous Star Wars holiday special, but had such a neat design that Lucas brought him into main canon, where he accomplished such badass feats as standing in rooms, doing nothing, getting his ass kicked by a carbon-sick Han Solo and then getting that same ass eaten by a giant desert butthole.

So obviously, the fandom latched onto Boba Fett like nothing else. He had tons of books and comics dedicated to his journey after escaping the sarlacc pit, desperate to make this character as badass as he seemed to be in their heads.

So it was only a matter of time before an actual Hollywood director made the same attempt on the big screen. So thanks to Jon Fravreau and Dave Filoni, this character officially has some more gas in the tank.
