The Office: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

8. Erin Hannon

Pam Beesly the office
NBC

This character came into the series like an injection of colourful energy in season five as a replacement for Pam Beesly on the reception desk. Her bubbly and optimistic outlook on life could have easily come across as annoying - which it did from time to time - but it felt welcomed in the awkward and often tedious series. Her comedy was far less subtle than other cast members, but this helped to make her stand out.

Ellie Kemper is very well known for her brilliant ability to perform likeable characters, who you'd probably want to avoid in real life. She brought all of this energy to The Office and managed to become a leading member of the pack quite soon into her introduction. Erin was given plenty of great storylines, especially in her love interest role with Andy Bernard, and the narrative surrounding her being an orphan.

Ultimately, towards the show's twilight, Erin felt just as important as many of the series veterans, which is why she ranks so highly on this list.
