The Office: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

3. Jim Halpert

Jim captures a lot of the same points as his wife, Pam. He was believable, his development was strong, and after they finally got together, he was able to explore new themes like corporate ladder climbing, fatherhood, and more, whilst still feeling like Jim. However, he gets a slight one up thanks to the fact that he was the leading character of the show in many ways.

When watching The Office, it was clear that John Krasinski's Jim Halpert was the audiences eye into the world. While Michael Scott acted as the face of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch, Jim was that relatable worker who tried to have some fun in an utterly tedious environment. This made him a peoples champion of sorts, as every viewer wished they could find the fun in their work, just like him.

Finally, his rivalry with Dwight Schrute was one of the most essential pieces of the puzzle. The pettiness of his pranks and deliberate provocations turned them from full-on rivals into reluctant friends. It was indeed one of the best duo dynamics in the show, and even TV itself.
