The Simpsons: 10 Best Parody Episodes

Movie parody: Citizen Kane (1941)

Given that Citizen Kane is often cited as the greatest movie of all time, it's not surprising that The Simpsons would have spoofed it at some point.

In the season four episode Rosebud, Mr Burns pines for his beloved childhood teddy bear Bobo. Coincidentally, it soon finds itself in the hands of his employee's daughter, Maggie Simpson, and he is determined to reclaim it.

The episode references many key sequences from Citizen Kane, including the opening "famous last words" prologue and the celebratory party scene. In particular, the animators really showed off their skills as they replicated so many moments from the original movie with the exact same angles, pacing and timing.
