The Simpsons: 10 Most Underrated Characters
3. Dr Nick Riviera
Like Duffman, Dr Nick Riviera is the kind of recurring character who comes along with a signature catchphrase - "Hi, everybody!" followed by a chorus of "Hi, Dr Nick!" - and unwavering optimism and energy.
A medical professional who knows dangerously little about his job, his role in the show has lessened over the course of the show, but he is still guaranteed to bring the laughs when he is allowed to turn up.
During his time on the show, he has saved Homer during heart bypass surgery (with a little help from Lisa, because, y'know, he's terrible) and been shown to a grave robber.
Still, it is his sheer, limitless incompetence that makes him such a blast to watch, from his bonkers advertisements for his surgical practice to his singing during dangerous operations.
Dr Hibbert may be the doctor star of Springfield, by Dr Nick is a far superior character and element of comedy.
