The Simpsons: 10 Most Underrated Characters
4. Kent Brockman
The passionless, disgruntled Springfield news anchor, Kent Brockman is always present for the big moments, often over-exaggerating the city's major events for a ratings boost or failing to understand the true gravity of what's taking place.
Usually portrayed as a satirical stereotype of a real life reporter, there have been moments where his real personality has shone, showing him as something of a childish, spoiled diva.
For example, he once refused to do the news because Bart ate his danish, and was almost fired for breaking character and swearing live on-air. He also once won the lottery on-air, and even stayed on as the Channel 6 reporter during The Simpsons Movie, when the city was trapped under the dome with no hope of escape.
Always somewhere in the background, Brockman, when given the chance, often becomes one of Springfield's most hilarious recurring characters, and if seeing him going off on one on live TV doesn't get you giggling, then something has gone very wrong.
