22shortCouch Gag: The family are sea monkeys and swim to the couch made of clam shells Plot: This episode features multiple story lines about Springfield residents during one day. Stories include Homer leaving Maggie in a newspaper vending machine, Principal Skinner entertaining Superintendant Chalmers with €˜cooked hams€™ and Aurora Borealis, Lisa gets gum in her hair and Nelson getting his comeuppance from a tall man. Best Gag: The Springfield Police Force discussing burgers a la Pulp Fiction: ''Y'know i went to the McDonalds in Shelbyville the other day'' ''The McWhat??'' ''Uh the McDonalds restaurant. I never heard of it either but they have over 2000 locations in this state alone''...''Hmm must've sprung up overnight''

18. "Two Bad Neighbors" S7 E13

Bush moves into a house opposite the Simpsons a prank war begins with Homer after George spanks Bart. This quickly escalates into all out war between Homer and the 41st President of the United States. Best Gag: ''First Bush invades my home turf , then he takes my pals, then he makes fun of the way i talk...probably. Now he steals my right to raise a disobediant, smart-alecky son! Well that's it!'' Cue a hilarious fight between Homer and George Bush.

17. "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" S6/7 E25/1

Plot: Mr Burns brings misery to many of Springfield€™s residents €“ he steals newly found oil reserves from the school, tries to block out the sun, gets Moe€™s Tavern closed and keeps forgetting Homer€™s name to name but a few of his transgressions €“ and is then promptly shot by an unseen assailant. The police force tries to find the perpetrator with Homer Simpson being the main suspect in this two part classic. Best Gag: Smithers: ''...and when he tried to steal our sunlight he crossed that line between everyday villany and cartoonish super-villainy''

After destroying an ancient artefact Homer is thrown out until they discover that he is €˜the chosen one€™ who is destined to lead the Stonecutters to glory€ Best Gag: The Stonecutters song: ''Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the Metric system down? We do! We do! Who keeps Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps? We do! We do! Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Guttenburg a star? We do! We do!''
