The Simpsons: 20 Best Movie Parodies
4. Psycho

Yes, for the second Hitchcock parody in this list we have a meticulously-realised spoof of the most famous scene from arguably Hitch's most famous film, Psycho.
Influenced by the violence in Itchy & Scratchy cartoons, Maggie whacks Homer over the head with a mallet, only for him to grab onto the tablecloth and knock over a paint can which spills into a plughole in the floor.
Complete with Hitchcock's iconic camera angles and transitions (the switch from plug hole to eye works even better in cartoon) and Bernard Hermann's chilling score, it is a superb PG-certificated recreation of the classic murder scene of Marion Crane from the famous thriller.
Another fantastic Psycho reference occurs in Brother From The Same Planet where the very Norman Bates-like Principal Skinner lives in a house identical to the iconic Bates' residence.
