5. A Reference To Game Of Thrones

*Spoilers in this one for people not up to date with Game of Thrones. Given that the writers of The Simpsons have seemingly grown more and more reliant on resorting to pop culture references over the years it seems plausible that they might do dip into this bag again when deciding how Sideshow Bob murders Bart. The obvious choice to parody for a high-profile murder scene would therefore be TV€™s Game of Thrones. Therefore we can possibly expect to see Bart shoved out a window (like Bran Stark €“ even though he survived his fall), beheaded (like Ned Stark), poisoned (like Joffrey Baratheon) or killed along with his other family members at a wedding (like The Red Wedding). Unfortunately I don€™t think we€™ll see him meet his end in the same way Oberyn Martell did in his fight to the death with The Mountain. I can€™t help but feel that Bart's eyeball exploding into a bloody mess might be a step too far for a show like The Simpsons.
