The Simpsons: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

A story is only as good as its villain, and while The Simpsons may not have an antagonist in the most conventional sense, it's still easy to point the finger towards Mr Burns as the show's big bad.

The billionaire owner of the Nuclear Power Plant is a devilish figure whose greed and spite have gotten in the way of our heroes many times. Despite this, he's also hilarious and oddly likeable.

Charles Montgomery Burns is almost Machiavellian in his evil, as he has very little motive outside of imposing his power on others. This has led to plenty of great moments, especially in his infamous blocking of the sun from "Who Shot Mr Burns?".

However, Mr Burns is at his best when you get to see his more vulnerable side. Despite his evil antics, he's a scared and weak man, so seeing him out of his comfort zone is an excellent way for the writers to explore his different facets.
