This matriarch of the titular dysfunctional family is easily one of the most iconic parts of the show. You could pop anyone in a tall blue wig and strangers would compare them to Marge Simpson. As a character, she deserves a place in the top five thanks less to her comedy and more for being the family's anchor.

Marge isn't the funniest person. In fact, she often plays the part of the buzzkill who makes others - like Homer or Bart - out to be the funny ones. But, she can have some pretty chuckle heavy moments thanks to her raspy voice and dry wit.
