The Simpsons: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

3. Principal Seymour Skinner

The Simpsons Krusty
Fox

Steamed hams, anyone?

Principal Seymour Skinner is such an easy character to fall for, as he manages to present something silly and amusing whilst still bearing some slightly darker hallmarks. At first glance, he's just an uptight principal designed to be Bart's nemesis, but as you come to learn more about him, you see that he's more than that.

Skinner is a bumbling and awkward person to whom many people can relate. He tries incredibly hard to maintain order in his school but fails thanks to his lack of intimidation and authority. Plus, his odd relationship with his demanding mother gives you a clue into why he might be the way he is.

Of course, it would be remiss not to mention his ridiculous backstory as Armin Tamzarian in the episode "The Principal and the Pauper", where it turns out he faked his identity. Luckily for those who hated this reveal (of which there were many), it was proved non-canon in the episode "Walking Big & Tall".
