The Simpsons: Every Treehouse Of Horror Ranked Worst To Best

15. XXIII. The Greatest Story Ever Holed; Unnormal Activity; Bart & Homer's Excellent Adventure

The Simpsons The Shinning

There's a running theme in Simpsons episodes that says that most of the time when Lisa says something is a good idea it isn't: it's almost like their acknowledgment that she isn't the most beloved of characters and it crops up again in The Greatest Story Ever Holed.

Instead of rewarding genius, Springfield sees their particle accelerator open a black hole in the most purely sci-fi segment of the Treehouse series. It's got some great visual gags in it, but again, when it's not horror it loses points.

Unnormal Activity is, as you can probably guess, The Simpsons' Paranormal Activity homage, complete with found footage. It's actually pretty scary at times, but the ending that sees Homer having a threesome with a Moe-devil and another demon is just weird.

The final segment then swerves away from horror again to time travel, with a Back To The Future spoof that is well put together, if a little familiar, but not the horror it's labelled as unfortunately.
