The Umbrella Academy: 10 Questions Season 3 MUST Answer
3. Is Five Ready To Stop Killing?
The Umbrella Academy quickly established that the little Five that returned to the present in Season 1 wasn't the same as the little Five that left.
Having lived through the apocalypse and escaping it by becoming a revered time-traveling assassin, he had seen some sh*t and crossed some lines in his 50-plus years of life - proving that he was no longer a boy (in spite of his teenage body).
Undoubtedly part of the reason that he was so cynical, Five very much removed himself from situations he was involved in so that he didn't have to think about the horrible things he did for the Commission. But after deciding that enough was enough, he called it quits and returned home.
In spite of this, he still took every opportunity to prove what an efficient killer he was - taking out the Commission agents hunting him at every turn. However, this all changed when The Handler tasked him with killing the Commission's board of directors.
Standing there, soaked in everyone else's blood, he realised that he didn't want to be a killer anymore. He again proved this in the finale when he decided against killing Axel and let him live.
Has Five finally decided to change his ways, or will he once again find himself placed in a situation where he'll have to resort to these methods in Season 3?
