The Walking Dead: 10 Most Disappointing Episodes Ever
1. Swear (Season 7, Episode 6)
Last, but certainly not least, we have "Swear", perhaps the show's most widely disliked episode. It falls in season seven as the group splits up after attacking the Saviours. We closely follow Alanna Masterton's Tara, who has slowly worked her way into a main role.
How ironic then that it proves to be a massive letdown. After getting separated from Heath, Tara stumbles across a tightly-knit community on the coast known as Oceanside. They're a group of isolationists who wish to hide their presence from everyone, so already you can tell how little of an impact they're going to have.
It's a very tedious slog as Tara is caught by Oceanside, discusses their ethics and approach to survival, then turns around and finds her way back to Alexandria while refusing to reveal the coastline's presence. Very little happens of real consequence all the way through.
In addition to feeling very detached from the rest of the season, "Swear" features an incredibly lacklustre performance from Alanna Masterson, who fails to bring any substantial development to Tara. It's especially disappointing considering this was her first move out of recurring status and into the main set.
