The Walking Dead: 10 Most Underrated Episodes

5. Thank You (Season 6, Episode 3)

The Walking Dead
AMC

Thank You gets a lot of hate thanks to its divisive and teasing conclusion. Many have even considered it to be the moment where The Walking Dead lost its way and began to drop in quality.

These complaints, whilst reasonable on paper, aren't entirely fair when you watch the episode as a whole. There can be no denying that pretending to kill off Glenn was a poor narrative decision, but the episode that comes before it really is quite good.

On the one hand, you've got Glenn and Michonne trying to keep a small group of Alexandrians alive, a tighter focus on the people in the community that Rick and the gang have taken over, and a great dynamic between Glenn and the broken Nicholas (Michael Traynor). Watching Nicholas deal with his crippled mental state makes for riveting TV, promising a major twist.

Along the way, Rick tries to lure the horde away from Alexandria and Daryl grapples with the need to help Sasha and Abraham lead the horde or help Rick.

All told, it's a great episode which balances everything The Walking Dead does best, from its quieter character interactions to its horror and its violence.
