The Walking Dead: 10 Outrageous Comic Moments That Won't Be Used

2. Goodbye Glenn

Negan is definitely on his way to The Walking Dead. There’s been hints within the show (that baseball bat last season), and the producers and actors have all spoken about him; it’s a question of when, not if.

The foul-mouthed, baseball-bat-wielding leader of The Saviours is one of the biggest and baddest villains the comics has introduced, perhaps only being matched by the Governor, and his arrival on the show is massively hyped.

He announces his arrival in the comics by using his barbed-wire-wrapped bat, which he calls Lucille, to bash Glenn’s skull in. It’s a total shock and a brutal end for a beloved character. Because of this, it’s largely expected that Glenn will meet his end when Negan does arrive.

While that isn’t totally out of the question, and nobody is truly safe, killing Glenn off would still be a major surprise, yet having it happen thanks to Negan wouldn’t necessarily be, because it’s such a well-known moment now even to those who don’t read the comics.

It’d be better for the show to completely subvert expectations, something it loves to do, and have Negan kill another member of the group - perhaps, in a cruel twist of fate, Maggie - and they could always kill Glenn off in another, more surprising way at a different point.
