The Walking Dead: Every Season 10 Episode (So Far) - Ranked Worst To Best

5. Lines We Cross

The Walking Dead Silence
AMC

Season ten's big premiere was loaded with fun action that made for a dynamic opening hour and gave us the chance to catch up with all the survivors following the tragedy that defined season nine's end. With the Whisperers still a looming threat, we got to see how the communities train to fight, the show highlighting the formation of a functional army during a beach-set training session.

Of course, the big event in the episode was the crashing of a satellite within Whisperer territory that started a fire that would put everyone at risk, forcing the survivors to chance crossing the border for the greater good. The firefighting sequence that followed was quite solid, layered with tension both for walkers drawn to the scene of impact and for the potential of Whisperer presence, and also highlighted just how effective the communities have become as a collective unit.

In the history of the show's season premieres, Lines We Cross never reached the heights of, say, season one's Days Gone Bye, season five's explosive No Sanctuary, or season seven's emotional gutpunch of The Day Will Come When You Won't Be, but that's okay. The action contained within and some fun character moments, such as the budding relationship between Connie and Daryl or the return of Carol to the docks, made for an entertaining kickoff to the season.
