The Walking Dead: Every Season 4 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

1. The Grove

The Walking Dead Carol Tyreese The Grove
AMC

The Grove is often regarded as perhaps the best episode of the entire show, and it's easy to see why. Another low-key episode with limited characters, it follows Carol, Tyreese, Lizzie, Mika and baby Judith as they set up camp in an abandoned cabin and debate whether or not to travel to Terminus.

There's a slight hitch or two in the plan, though. Not only has Carol not told Tyreese about what she did to Karen, but Lizzie's grip on reality starts to put her and the group in danger.

A tense and unsettling hour that forces Carol to confront Lizzie's inability to accept the new world, The Grove briefly seems to be heading for a happy ending, until Lizzie kills her sister and Carol is forced to kill Lizzie to save her from herself.

Add to this horrific twist Carol's confession at the end of the episode, as well as the phenomenal performances of Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman and Brighton Sharbino, and what you have is a TV masterpiece that is without question the best episode of The Walking Dead's fourth season.
