The Walking Dead: Every Season 8 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

11. The Lost And The Plunderers

The Walking Dead
AMC

Following Carl's death, The Walking Dead had to do some slight damage control, and took a segmented approach to The Lost and the Plunderers in hopes of moving the story along without being too derailed by Carl's demise.

The episode primarily follows a rogue Simon as he massacres the Scavengers in one of the show's most satisfying and ultimately harrowing death scenes. But it also follows a grieving Rick and Michonne as they attempt to move on from Carl, and Aaron and Enid as they make contact with Oceanside, asking for aid.

The Simon side of things is genuinely thrilling to see, shedding light on how twisted Negan's right-hand man is brilliantly, but everything else is weighed down by odd character interactions and a too-bleak tone that's worryingly reminiscent of season seven's worst moments.
