There is one great moment in season eight's penultimate episode, Worth, and that's the fight between Negan and his right-hand Simon. Their slow-burn rivalry forms a good chunk of the season's drama, and whilst it was never too compelling, their final meeting makes for an excellent conclusion.
Unfortunately, the rest of the episode isn't good. There's a pointless subplot which sees Daryl and Rosita capture Eugene, only for him to escape thanks to some gross vomiting tactics, and another that sees Rick grapple with the letter Carl left him.
Watching it, it's hard not to see Worth as anything more a bridging episode, bringing everyone together for the final hour. The battle between Negan and Simon is great, but everything else is just killing time before the end.
