The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs From "Hunted"

5. It's Still Playing Things Safe

The Walking Dead
AMC

I sincerely hope this isn't an issue every week, but once again Hunted hammers home just how safe The Walking Dead has become for the main characters, with not one major character outside of the villains dying since Siddiq back at the halfway mark of season ten.

Hunted features some deaths, sure, but the characters we lose are all non-descript red shirts whose demises offer very little in the way of shock value since we've only just met them and barely know their names.

Also, it's worth noting that while Alden is seriously injured and seems doomed to die considering his injuries, actor Callan McAuliffe has just been added to the opening credits, and it's unlikely the show'll kill a character this early into their tenure as a main player.

Of course, I could be wrong on that score, but even so the show's inability to kill its main characters whilst thinking that red shirts will be enough to keep the stakes high is becoming a major issue, especially when you consider how many characters there are left, and how many are due to bite the dust.

Anyway, here are the Ups...
