The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From "Acheron Part 1 & 2"

5. Maggie Is A Welcome Complication

The Walking Dead Season 11

Lauren Cohan's return to the role of fan favourite Maggie Rhee is nothing short of genius, a risky move on paper which has nonetheless proved to be a great narrative decision for the show.

Maggie's returned with her and Glenn's son Hershel and an all-new outlook on life, leadership and sacrifice. Taking control of a broken Alexandria, her new worldview puts her at odds with Negan and Alden in the two-parter's most disturbing bolt from the blue, and her clashes with Negan form the heart and soul of the episodes.

Maggie's involvement in the show has shaken up the group dynamic like never before, and it'll be interesting see her and Negan's relationship grow - for better or worse - moving forward.

Also, when Cohan's performance is as powerful as it's been thus far, you can only hope the show will do the right thing and not squander her potential.
