7. Genuine History Is Being Made
I can't decide whether this is a deep point, or a blindingly simple one. History is being made in this world, and the more we explore, the more we learn, and the more realistic it becomes. There's an authentic nature to the surroundings, including the beautifully burned forest. It's a very simple touch, but after growing weary of generic green forests, it was a refreshing change to see the action go down in the beautiful charcoal ruins of the woodland. Then there's the fact that we're hearing a whole host of backstories from the various characters coming into contact with the group. A whole host of incidents have occurred around the world (well, the nation at least) and we're always hearing snippets about them. We're not just watching one group's struggles, we're watching the world burn, and hearing all about it from outside sources.
