The Walking Dead Season 7: 6 Things That Could Go Wrong For Rick

There are many fan theories circulating that Carl will die this season. Whenever Carl finds himself in a corner he tries to kill everyone that stands in his way of safety, as we've already seen when he tried to kill Negan and then get away seemingly scot-free. The scenes where Negan tries to take Carl under his wing showed a softer side in the villain, but it's obvious that he knows Carl's worth in a fight against Rick.

Carl has been geared up to fight since Negan first started to take from Alexandria and wouldn't shy away from the battle. He is headstrong and takes risks, as we saw when he recklessly hitched a ride to try and kill Negan himself. If he tries anything like that again and reacts emotionally it could affect Rick's plans and Negan might not show the same mercy he showed before.

Carl's death would make Rick snap. He would lose the last bit of sanity he has and leave himself and Alexandria vulnerable. After all the loss Rick has suffered, losing Carl would be the final straw. If he died at the hand of Negan it could be defining act in the war against the Saviours.

Aside from the show, actor Chandler Riggs last year tweeted about getting into college, which his father followed with a proud photo of the two on Instagram using the hashtag #freedom in the caption. Could Riggs be leaving the show to pursue his studies? There's no official word as yet, leaving fans to speculate about Carl's fate.
