The Wire Cast: Where Are They Now?
12. Felicia Pearson
One of The Wire’s finest creations isn’t really a creation at all. For three seasons Felicia Pearson a.k.a Snoop was played by… Felicia Pearson, a young woman from Baltimore with genuine knowledge of working in the drug trade and time served behind bars. The Wire is famed for its realism, and it doesn’t get much more real than that.
With perhaps a paucity of roles available to a performer with her skillset, Pearson has not acted a great deal since finishing her work on The Wire. She appeared in a couple of less prominent Spike Lee movies, including Chi-raq, though in minor roles.
So instantly iconic was Pearson’s character that many rappers wanted to cosign her clout, and she appeared in videos for the likes of Rick Ross, A$ap Ferg, and namesake Snoop Dogg. The musical connection led to her taking a role on VH1 reality series Love & Hip Hop for two years.
Unfortunately, Pearson’s legal troubles resurfaced in 2011 when she was arrested for drug offences. She pleaded guilty to charges and received a suspended sentence; aside from her sporadic TV work, she seems to be keeping her head down nowadays.
