TRUE LIES adapted for TV?

Will TV shows based on movies be the next thing in vogue? Days after it was alleged a TV series inspired by The Bourne Identity might be going ahead, comes news that James Cameron (The Terminator, Avatar) is interested in producing a TV show based on his 1994 blockbuster True Lies. The action-comedy starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as a spy keeping his life of espionage a secret from his unsuspecting housewife, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. At the time it was the most expensive movie ever made, costing $120 million, going on to gross $378 million around the world. Deadline are reporting that Rene Echevarria (The 4400, Castle) could be the showrunner, having previously worked with Cameron on the early-'00s TV series Dark Angel. This project is apparently being setup by Cameron's own production company Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV. One question remains: does this mean Tom Arnold will reprise his role as "sidekick" and will finally stop spreading rumours of an imminent movie sequel?
