4. What Happened To Phillip Jeffries?

Phillip Jeffries, the character played by David Bowie in the film Fire Walk With Me, is possibly the most infuriatingly enigmatic of the whole canon. In less than three minutes of screen time he waltzes into the FBI Philadelphia offices (after a two-year disappearance we are told) and recounts quite incoherently his experience during that time spent in the Red Room. We aren€™t told how he got there or how he escaped - if he did escape - but before we can make sense of the whole mess he disappears yet again, this time we assume for good. And though there is evidence on camera of his presence, security says he was never there. Did Jeffries ever even leave the Red Room?
