With the seriousness of the show, you'd never guess that the cast is full of pranksters and jokers.

Travis Fimmel (Ragnar) is the main prankster of the cast and has pulled pranks on every single cast member, but little have succeeded in getting the jokester back. He's hung buckets of water over doorways and even used production phones to send his castmembers the wrong calling times.

Gustaf Skarsgård once even joked that he stole the part of Floki from Fimmel. "He's so far out in his pranks... he put a live chicken in a car. By the time it was found, there was shit everywhere."

Sometimes he and Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn) would try and break each other during scenes or try and break other cast members by pulling faces or acting silly when the camera is away from their faces. It's also been noted that George Blagden (Athelstan) was the funniest guy on set and that Jessalyn Gilsig and Alyssa Sutherland (the closest of the girls) are the best to prank.
