3. Yidu
Yidu was an Asian slave brought back to Kattegat after the vikings performed a successful raid. Once she caught the attention of Ragnar, he took her as a lover and two became inseparable.
However, the reason why they were inseparable wasn't necessarily out of love. Ragnar had endured many injuries in battle, cursing him with daily pain. Using a special plant, Yidu numbed Ragnar's senses with an opioid called betel. While travelling across France, Yidu kept Ragnar heavily drugged until he couldn't function without it. After repeatedly mistreating Yidu, she refused to give Ragnar any more of the opioid. Consumed by rage, Ragnar dragged Yidu towards a lake and drowned her.
As tragic as it was to watch Yidu die, she had it coming. Although she supplied Ragnar with betel to alleviate his pain, it didn't take much coaxing before she was pumping him with the destructive drug. She knew how dangerous the compound was and she was aware it would destroy Ragnar's life if she kept administering it to him. Because of her actions, she's directly responsible for turning the most legendary Viking warrior in history into a junkie.
